Ocean themes kept popping up in various contexts for about 6 weeks before I started this quilt. I decided there must be some reason, thus my February quilt. I used heavy thread and free-motion stitching. Although neither technique seems particularly innovative, I had not really worked much with heavy threads in a long while, and had some fun with it. I also tried using a programmed stitch that changed width while free-motion stitching, in order to create an uneven line to outline my appliqued shapes.
