My goal was to capture some of the glitter of snow and ice on the trees in winter. I worked from the photo above to sketch a scene. Since I do mostly landscapes, I wanted to try some new techniques with sheers and very uneven stitching around the edges to create soft edged appliqué. I also tried using some different specialty fabrics.
