Journal Quilts: June 2006 Just off of Main Street in Lexington, VA, I happened upon this beauty and had to take some pictures. Even though it was a very warm day, this house radiated cool serenity. When I began to work on recreating it in fabric, this scene provided lots of practice for window details. The columns were small enough to construct with stitching only. The foliage surrounding the house sets it off and the shadows help create a sense of depth. This quilt was made, embellished and quilted on a Janome 6500 Pro.
