29" x 29" The center of this quilt actually began as a small class sample when I was teaching my Miniature Landscape class. I thought that the small landscape turned out well enough that I wanted to make it into a larger quilt. So I replaced the sky and added trees to expand the piece horizontally and added a textured foreground and borders to transform a 8" x10" miniature into the quilt as it is today. In retrospect, I am certain it would have been easier just to start over, but by doing things the hard way I taught myself many new techniques, and invented others. It remains one of my favorite pieces. |
