This quilt consists of nine traditional blocks and a pieced border. The block pattern is called "54-40 or Fight". The blocks are shaded in order to create a light center and the whole quilt uses mostly an analogous color scheme.

There is extensive beading with tiny seed beads done across the diagonal of the quilt.
